
What are the success-building components of an emotionally mature, personally competent person ? It is the ability to effectively sense, understand, and apply the power of emotions in our lives. Our Managing Workplace Emotions session includes developing competencies in the following 5 areas:
- Emotional Self-awareness --knowing not only what you're feeling, but why, and knowing the effect of your emotions on yourself and your behavior, and the impact you and your behavior has on others. Increase awareness of your own strengths and limitations, while maintaining a strong sense of your self-worth and value to the organization ion.
- Emotional Self-management -managing your feelings so they're relevant to the current situation and you respond appropriately (rather than reacting inappropriately)
- Motivation - Energizing and directing yourself towards a goal, even in the face of obstacles or setbacks.
- Understanding Others -Developing an awareness of the feelings and concerns of others, helping them leverage their abilities, leveraging diversity, tuning in to both verbal and nonverbal cues.
- Relating and Influencing -How you encourage desirable responses in others - through communication, conflict management, leadership, relationship building, collaboration, cooperation and group synergy.
